About This Game 'The Works of Mercy' is a psychological thriller inspired by the classics of the genre. The game’s plot revolves around mysterious killings committed on seemingly random victims. Only this time it’s the player who becomes the murderer. The game tells a story of a personal tragedy and wrecked psyche. I really wanted to make this work so bad. I focused so hard on the good side of this game but there's too much downsides for me to actually recommend it. I waited for so long to finally play this game and it breaks my heart that my first not recommended review is for game that sat on the #1 spot of my wishlist for almost a year. The moment I launched the game, I knew already that they downgraded the quality of this game. Just by basing on the quality of the main menu it looked so poor... but hey, don't judge the game by its cover right? For the first 10 minutes of gameplay, I was still impressed by the realistic graphics and textures of the game. It's really nice but it wasn't enough for me to recommend this game. What really annoys me the most was the color filter as if it was taken from Windows Movie Maker. It made the game look cheap. The hospital scene was so dark that I think they purposely did it to hide the lacked details. The story is okay, good twist but not really something new. Also, no objective list and no save function. I finished the game for almost just an hour and that is just too short imo. This game had so, so, much potential I just hope that they gave it more love and attention because it felt rushed and forced. The game already had a good following after the hype a few years ago, I just hope the devs used that advantage, took good care of this game and made it successful.. Ok, not more worth then 5 dollars. Enough said.. For an indie game with limited budget, I'd say this is a pretty impressive ideea. It definetly requires you to play it more than once in order to understand the story, but unfortunately it is very short so it only has a few, but powerful moments. It could be great if only it had the financial support in order to make this ideea really work, and build a very strong psychological horror game, but for a start this is good.. Loved evey second of this game! the mind ♥♥♥♥ u get in this game is scary even tho its short its very fun!. 80 minutes of bugs and glitches. Story would of been fine but this was clearly done lazily, hastily and clearly with passion running out midway production, really broke all immersion. Don't waste your money, just watch a play trough of the game.
